David & Patrick: A Skaneateles Wedding

David and Patrick were married in the historic village of Skaneateles, New York. Their wedding day centered around three local landmarks, celebrating both their union and the rich heritage of the Finger Lakes region.

The Hannum House

The day began at the Hannum House, where the couple spent the morning getting ready. Located directly next door to the Sherwood Inn and operated by the Inn’s staff, this historic residence allowed the couple to prepare for the day in a private, stately setting on the same property as their reception.

St. James Church

The ceremony took place at St. James Church, an Episcopal parish founded in 1873. A cornerstone of the Skaneateles shoreline, the church is a celebrated example of Gothic Revival architecture. David and Patrick exchanged vows in the sanctuary, which is known for its historic stained glass and prominent location overlooking the water.

The Sherwood Inn

The celebration continued at the Sherwood Inn, which has served as the center of village hospitality since it was built in 1808. Originally established by Isaac Sherwood as a prominent stagecoach stop, the Inn is one of the oldest operating establishments in the region.
